Resident leadership and community.
Black Resident Physicians of Canada (BRPC) unites Black residents nationwide by building leadership through mentorship, wellness, advocacy, and governance.
Built on four pillars
BRPC supports Black residents across Canada at every stage of training.
Mentorship
Connect with mentors and peers who understand the residency journey — from CaRMS to fellowship and beyond.
Wellness
Culturally relevant wellness resources and peer support to help you thrive through demanding training.
Advocacy
A collective voice advocating for equity and systemic change in residency training and healthcare.
Governance
Resident-led leadership shaping the policies and programs that affect Black residents nationwide.
A growing national network
In July 2025, BPC’s Ontario and national resident committees merged to form Black Resident Physicians of Canada (BRPC), expanding from an Ontario focus to a national network with regional chapters.
Chapters currently span institutions across the country, including Toronto, McMaster, McGill, Memorial, Queen’s, Dalhousie, and Ottawa. Recruitment is also underway for chapters in Sudbury, Alberta, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan.
